WASHINGTON, DC -- North America's Building Trades Unions have joined with Rowan University to launch a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree program in Construction Management.
The program is a career-oriented professional degree completion program, and is designed for individuals who may possess either or both of existing college credits as well as on-the-job experience in the building and construction trades.
The B.A. in Construction Management will consist of 120 credits. Students admitted to the Bachelor of Arts in Construction Management will possess either an Associate’s degree or other earned college credits with at least five (5) years of relevant working experience in the building construction industry, including the completion of a skilled craft registered apprenticeship program.
Rowan University’s CM Program is specifically designed for Building Trades members:  it is accessible nationwide (the program is fully online with opportunities to connect with faculty face-to-face each week using software similar to Skype), affordable ($400 per credit hour) and the curriculum was created with input from the Building Trades and signatory contractors.
"We are excited to be partnering with Rowan University to launch this construction management degree program," said Sean McGarvey, President of North America's Building Trades Unions.  "We are particularly thrilled that the program is structured in such a way that students, including  and especially members of our unions, will be able to convert into credits part of their working experience through prior learning assessment."
