Electrical Licensing Bill Stalls in Michigan

Apparently, the Republicans who sponsored this bill, got an earful from individual electricians as well as industry representatives who testified to the immense dangers associated with the removal of licensing standards, and those dangers should far outweigh the perceived cost savings a company could presumably realize when using a non-licensed electrician to perform electrical work.

A large number of IBEW members, as well as representatives from the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) testified in opposition to the bill.
