$360 Million SunCoke Energy Project to Begin in Ohio
For many months now, 500 building trades workers have been waiting in anticipation of breaking ground on the $360 million SunCoke Energy project in Middletown, Ohio. After enduring delays attributed to the snowy weather, the project is now ready to move forward. And, just in time for the skilled craft professionals of Butler County.
“I told SunCoke that our workers will come up here with snow shovels and clean off the snow if they needed us to get things going,” said Gary Corbin, the Executive Secretary-Treasurer of the Butler County Building Trades Council.
In recent weeks, the company finally received sign-off from the Ohio Department of Environmental Protection on its air permit, which was just one of a serious or regulatory and legal entanglements that delayed the project. But, all that is in the past and this job, which is expected to last 15 to 18 months, is now finally set to begin.
