  • Carhartt Donates $100,000 to Helmets to Hardhats to Help Transitioning Military Service Members Find Meaningful Civilian Careers - 7/29/2015

    WASHINGTON -- Carhartt, America's premium work wear brand since 1889, today, donated $100,000 to Helmets to Hardhats, a nonprofit program designed to help active-duty military service members National Guard, reservists and veterans successfully transition back into civilian life by offering them the means to secure a quality career in the building and trade industry. The company has committed to donating $100,000 annually to support the organization's mission to train transitioning vets for careers in the trades.
  • CA Newspaper Column Criticizes PLAs; State Building Trades President Robbie Hunter Responds - 7/29/2015

    The San Diego Union-Tribune recently published a column by conservative columnist Steven Greenhut criticizing several California State Building and Construction Trades Council-sponsored bills to encourage project labor agreements on school construction projects. Council President Robbie Hunter submitted a scathing response to the newspaper, pointing out the flaws in the column and the merits of those bills.
